Valentine's Day Pop-Up Chapel: 6 Micro Weddings at FARE Restaurant in Orillia 🖤
February 14, 2026
Love was definitely in the air this Valentine's Day at FARE Restaurant in Orillia! I had the absolute pleasure of photographing six unique micro weddings at a special pop-up chapel event — and what a day it was.
A Collaboration Built on Love
This incredible event came together thanks to the amazing teamwork of:
• FARE Restaurant — Providing the stunning venue and hospitality
• Reverend Barb, Julie & Carmen — Officiating ceremonies with warmth and grace and the organizational masterminds behind the magic
Media Coverage
The event caught the attention of CTV Barrie, who was on-site filming and interviewing Julie and one of our couples. It's wonderful to see local media recognizing the growing popularity of micro weddings and the creative ways couples are celebrating their love. Keep an eye out for their coverage!
What is a Micro Wedding?
For those unfamiliar, micro weddings are intimate celebrations typically with 20 guests or less. They focus on what truly matters: the love between two people, surrounded by their closest family and friends. No stress, no overwhelming logistics — just pure, authentic moments.
Today's pop-up chapel was the perfect example of why micro weddings have become so popular. Each couple got a beautiful, meaningful ceremony without the months of planning a traditional wedding requires.
The Day's Celebrations
Over the course of the day, six couples said 'I Do' in FARE's Swanmore Chapel. Each wedding was unique — some had just the couple and a few witnesses, others included small groups of family. Every ceremony was filled with:
• Genuine emotion (so many happy tears!)
• Personal vows that reflected each couple's journey
• Intimate moments you only get with smaller celebrations
• Beautiful details from FARE's romantic atmosphere including bubbly & a charcuterie board
And talk about perfect timing — two of the grooms were also celebrating their birthdays on Valentine's Day! Getting married on your birthday? Now that's what I call a double celebration!
Why Micro Weddings Work
As a photographer, I love micro weddings because they allow me to capture the real stuff. When there are only 10 people in the room, there's nowhere to hide — and that's beautiful. The nerves, the joy, the way partners look at each other when they think no one's watching... it's all there.
Plus, with a smaller guest list, couples can:
• Actually talk to every guest
• Splurge on things that matter to them (amazing food, photography, flowers)
• Get married sooner rather than later
• Focus on the marriage, not just the wedding
A Huge Thank You
To Reverend Barb, Julie, Carmen, and the entire team at FARE Restaurant — thank you for creating such a special experience for these couples.
To the six couples who let me document their Valentine's Day weddings — congratulations! Your love stories are just beginning, and I was honoured to capture chapter one.
